Stockport win the Pre-season Inter League match
with a 7-point margin; QotW about the only football league team
still represented by a Tory; a link to a radio interview with
Richard Gilbert; news of the graceful funeral of Nick Mills
Prods keep their 100% record to
stay top with Albert in hot pursuit-top scoring with the season's
first 50-pointer - QotW evokes memories of Napoleonic battles as
celebrated in London and Paris
The
Prods roar on with their 100% record intact whilst KFD nip into
second spot after the nail-biting Albert/Ethel tie at The Sun in
September - QotW asks you to identify the fourth largest party in the
House of Commons following 2024's General Election; it's not what
you think!
Full marks to the unstoppable
Prods on reaching the half way mark intact; elsewhere the Charas
have a notable victory, KFD keep on keeping on and the History Men
creep up to 5th - QotW about a musician who had a 70 year contract
with EMI
No change in the table as the
Prods power on winning the Club derby; KFD, Albert and the Bards
keep up the chase with home wins - QotW about the overlap of some
knights who favoured shrubbery and a gritty British film
The Prods go through to May's
WIST Champions final where they will be joined by The Alex in the
first WithQuiz v Stockport final for a while - QotW finds an
unexpected home for Lord Byron
A clean sweep for the away
teams, and for the form book; the Prods wonderful 100% record
continues - QotW makes one of Greg's punny connections between a
classic Western film and something that rises in Wales
On an evening dripping with
points the Prodigals secure their third Barry Whitehead League
Shield; many congratulations from the
rest of us and now let's see if they can keep that 100% record going
for 3 more matches to break all WithQuiz records - QotW deals with
some royal cobblers in a round dedicated to the League's bottom team
- Kieran puts forward some interesting ideas about how Bingo rounds
might be made more palatable
The Prods slip up at last
losing in Ladybarn; elsewhere Albert win to leapfrog KFD into 2nd
place and the Charas and History Men win to strengthen their
positions - QotW connects an octagonal lantern in the Marches, a
resting place for Greek heroes and a route from Concord to Triumph
Five years since our dear
friend and quizzing colleague Dave Rainford died and a wonderful
evening's quiz in his memory - Wins for KFD, the Bards, the
Charas and the History Men - Val Draper Cup draw held - QotW about
some Murky Swans
No change in the table as the
Prods, the History Men, the Charas and Ethel all notch up victories
- QotW deals with the muddled link between balls and the History Men

Another glorious league season
comes to a close with no change in the table as the Prodigals,
Albert and KFD win whilst Ethel and the Opsis tie; Many congratulations to the
Prods for an (almost) unblemished season, your team photo reigns
supreme - QotW asks about a bridge named after a football legend
The Bards go through to Round 2
with Albert not quite able to overcome the handicap; In the evening's Friendly the
Opsimaths storm to their first victory of 2025 - QotW harks back to
a time when British taste-buds were more tolerant
The Prods, KFD, the Pigs and
the Bards make it through to the Val Draper semis with the rest
going into the Plate semis ... apart from the Charas who are
knocked out and yet again earn the Cup setting honours as Round 2's
lowest scoring losers - QotW homes in on the various shades of upper
bodywear preferred by Nazis
The 'Night of the Underdogs' as
the Pigs go through to the Val Draper final to play KFD, whilst the
Opsimaths and the History Men earn the right to compete for the
WithQuiz Plate - QotW delves into the records with a tiebreaker
question that asks for the cumulative time spent by customers on
hold waiting for HM Revenue & Customs to answer the phone during a
single tax year
In a low scoring night the Pigs
win the Val Draper Cup with a little help from the handicap, whilst
the Opsis win the Plate not needing handicap assistance; the underdogs take the
prizes! - QotW celebrates a lesser known American President who has
a somewhat patriotic middle name
